ISLAMABAD: A former employee of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), who is said to be a close aide of Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, is likely to be made the director general of the CAA, said former federal parliamentary secretary Onaza Ehsan on Wednesday.
For the purpose, she said, an advertisement for the appointment of the CAA director general was given in newspapers on March 13 wherein people up to 62 years of age are eligible to apply. According to sources, the upper age limit was fixed 62 years to accommodate a blue-eyed person, who is also facing NAB inquiries.
Moreover, sources alleged that a Turkish company, TAV Airports, was being favoured to run the imported equipment installed at the airport under the airport outsource plan, as the request of other participating companies, including Vinci Airports SAS, AKD and others seeking more time for bidding, was turned down.
The government has adopted the stance that the officials concerned are not competent enough and that’s why a Turkish company is being considered to run the newly imported equipment.
