ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has summoned CADD secretary and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) DG in the case of alleged theft of medicines and corruption in purchase of gas cylinder in Polyclinic hospital Islamabad and adjourned the hearing of the case till today.
A three-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Saqib Nisar took up suomotu case for hearing on Thursday. At the inception of the hearing of the case the petitioner told the court that youngsters come to hospital to donate blood. The hospital’s technicians sell it out at the cost of Rs 7000.
Justice Saqib remarked “Gas cylinder costing Rs 3000 is being purchased at the cost of Rs 22000. Gas worth Rs 1.8 million is being purchased monthly for the hospital. This all is going on under hospital incharge Iftikhar Naro. Who had appointed IftikharNaro as incharge of hospital. The hearing of the case was adjourned till Friday.
