ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) gave their decision on Wednesday morning about increasing private schools fees.
IHC declared government’s notice against increasing the fees of private schools to be invalid and allowed private schools to increase their fees charged from students.
The Private Schools Authority had announced via a notification that they will be increasing the fees charged in private schools. The private schools had challenged the government’s notification, which had been issued on September 23, 2015.
In September last year, parents of schoolchildren took to the streets in protest against the increase in fees by private schools. These steps provoked the government to spring into action and issue the notification against the fee hike.
Owners of private schools had earlier claimed that the government had no right to control the increase in fees charged by their institutions.
