KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) senior party member and lawmaker Faisal Subzwari recently returned from abroad on Saturday after several months.
Talking to reporters at MQM’s temporary headquarters in PIB Colony, he spoke in favour of anti-terrorism operations in Karachi, suggesting that all institutions should own the city and should resolve issues with collective efforts.
After the recent incident when party’s chief went loose against Pakistan, Subzwari took a step backwards and said that his party had decided not to collect hides of sacrificial animals as a “goodwill gesture”.
MQM-P chief Dr Farooq Sattar, who has recently shifted to a much more defensive stance regarding party matters, said that Mr Subzwari had gone abroad with the permission of the party.
He urged that the party offices which were closed down on charges of promoting violence in city should be allowed to reopen and there should be no restrictions on its political activities.
He called for release of Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar on parole and also demanded the ‘release of missing’ workers of the party who were caught doing unlawful activities.
Dr Sattar termed all cases against party workers ‘fake’.
