GUJRANWALA: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) launched crackdown against human trafficking and arrested six agents during raids in Hafizabad, Sialkot, Gujrat and Narowal. Deputy Director Mufakhar Adeel informed that the accused Imran Ali, Ansar Mahmood, Muzammal Hussain, Muhammad Imran, Muhammad Amir and Hafiz Usman were involved in illegal transport of people from Pakistan to UAE and European countries. The accused were suspected of other crimes as well.
FIR approved against two officials
Anti-Corruption Authorities approved First Information Report (FIR) against two officials suspected of involvement in crimes of fraud and bribery. Regional Director Anti-Corruption Fareed Ahmed said that the accused Pasrur Assistant Director Land records did a mutation of land fraudulently. On the application of Sharafat Ali, Deputy Director Investigation conducted an inquiry in which the accused has been proven guilty.
Official of Land records Gujranwala Imtiaz Meo allegedly took bribe of six lacs from Abdul Hameed for illegal appointment at Land records department.
Taxation team seals 25 buildings, warns others
Excise and Taxation team sealed 25 buildings, as a consequence of unpaid property tax. Taxation Officer Zulfiqar Ahmed said that the campaign had issued warning notices to other 45 owners. The department has asked police to take legal action against 3 owners. Another wave of crackdown against defaulters is expected in the coming days.
Five injured as school van overturns
Five children got injured during a road accident at Thatha Gulab Singh. It was reported that school van was carrying students back to their homes and it’s over speed turned it over. 1122 Rescue team shifted injured children to a hospital at Kamoki.
