ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has lodged strong protests with India over the ceasefire violations over the Working Boundary and Line of Control (LoC) by Indian forces.
South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Director General Mohammad Faisal summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner J.P. Singh on Tuesday at Foreign Office.
The FO said in a statement that Pakistan strongly condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations on 31 October by the Indian Forces at the LoC in Nikial and Jandrot sectors, resulting in martyrdom of 6 civilians – including a woman and injuries to eight civilians.
He urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding; investigate the continued incidents of ceasefire violations; instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit, stop targeting the villages and civilians and maintain peace on the Working Boundary and the LoC.
